At Heritage Senior Living, our top priority is the safety, health and well-being of our residents and staff. Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve worked diligently to ensure all precautions and practices are put in place to mitigate the risk of illness in our communities. One investment we’ve made is installing a new, powerful HVAC technology to cleanse the air from any pathogens. This serves as another line of defense alongside other COVID-19 procedures.
Our Fight Against COVID-19
Since the onset of COVID-19, we have followed all CDC health and safety guidelines. We’ve updated all safety protocols and implemented the wearing of protective gear PPE from the very beginning; We asked all of our employees to sign a safety pledge committed to do all they can do to minimize their exposure to COVID-19; We also purchased disinfectant foggers that we use daily to minimize the spread of the virus on touchable surfaces.
Upgraded HVAC System Provides Cleaner Air for Our Residents and Staff
However, we’ve gone even further in our mission to protect residents and staff. Recently, we upgraded our HVAC system in our assisted living locations. The HVAC system inactivates the virus in small particles, offering clean air and disrupting the spread of COVID-19.
The virus, SARS-CoV-2, is an RNA structure. This new system actually disrupts the RNA code of the virus, preventing it from further replication and immediately deactivating it. This ultimately stops the spread of the virus and protects all of our residents and staff.
We invested $100,000 to install this technology in all of our buildings and common areas to serve as an additional layer of defense alongside all the other protocols we’ve implemented. The HVAC system, designed by Global Plasma Solutions, is also used by UW Madison Healthcare System, and our hope is that this is something that can be very effective.
